Does the Blaze 2.0 fit you?

In a few minutes you’ll know whether the Blaze 2.0 suits your face and your helmet, and which lens to put on which day.

Does it fit over my glasses?

Yes: the Blaze 2.0 is OTG-compatible, meaning it’s built to be worn over prescription glasses. Measure your prescription glasses on the outside from arm to arm. Frames up to about 14 cm wide on the outside usually fit if the arms sit close to your head. More important than millimetres is the real-world test with the whole set-up – prescription glasses, helmet and goggle together. The lenses must not touch.

Arrow 1 measures the frame on the outside from arm to arm; up to about 14 cm it usually fits underneath. Arrow 2 measures the goggle on the outside, about 18 cm. Top view: arrow 3 shows the gap between the prescription lens and the goggle lens; they do not touch. What to check on your frame

  1. Measure your frame from arm to arm. On the outside at the widest point, from the outer edge of one arm to the outer edge of the other.
  2. Up to about 14 cm, it usually fits underneath. Provided the arms sit close to your head. The Blaze 2.0 itself measures about 18 cm across the outside.
  3. The lenses must not touch. There must be a gap between the prescription lens and the goggle lens – contact means scratches on both lenses.
  4. The arms must not press against your temples. So tighten the strap just enough that nothing shifts when you shake your head – not a millimetre tighter.
Schematic drawing, not to scale. Whether the combination stays comfortable for hours depends on the shape of your face and can only be judged by wearing it.

Width

Measure across your face from temple to temple, roughly at eyebrow height. At about 18 cm wide on the outside, the Blaze 2.0 should reach your temples or extend just slightly beyond them.

What you want to avoid: the goggle frame visibly stops short of your temples – then the goggle is too small and your field of view is cut off. Or it sticks out so far that the sides of the helmet press against it.

The seal check

Put the goggle on without a helmet and don’t press it in. The foam alone should make even contact in three places: forehead, both cheekbones and the bridge of the nose. When adjusting, pull the strap slightly back and down, never straight back – that way the lower foam settles correctly on your cheekbones.

Light test: Face a window. If you see gaps of light at the edges, the goggle isn’t sealing there – cold air and snow will find the same way in.
Imprint test: After ten minutes, an even, faint imprint should remain. A deep red groove in a single spot means the strap is too tight or the goggle is positioned wrong.

Goggle and helmet: the gaper gap

The “gaper gap” is the strip of exposed skin between the top of the goggle and the helmet brim. Through this gap your forehead gets cold, wind and the airflow while riding bring the risk of windburn and sunburn, and warm, moist air that should escape upwards is diverted – the goggle fogs up faster.

Snowboarder in a helmet wearing the Blaze 2.0; the strap runs on the outside, over the helmet
The strap goes on the outside, over the helmet.

Here’s how to test the combination, ideally in front of a mirror:

  • Put the helmet and goggle on together. The strap goes on the outside, over the helmet, under the goggle clip if your helmet has one.
  • The curve of the top of the goggle frame should follow the curve of the helmet brim, with no visible gap.
  • Finger test: If you can slide a finger between the goggle frame and the helmet brim, the combination isn’t ideal.
  • Shake your head hard – side to side, then forwards and back. If the goggle slips or pushes the helmet, the two don’t work together.
  • Check that the helmet brim doesn’t cover the goggle’s vents.

Helmet Fit guarantee: If the Blaze doesn’t fit your helmet, you can return it free of charge within 30 days. This applies to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Over prescription glasses

The Blaze 2.0 is OTG-compatible, meaning it’s built to be worn over prescription glasses. These are the questions glasses wearers ask most often.

Will my glasses fit underneath at all?

Measure your prescription glasses at the widest point, on the outside from arm to arm. Frames up to about 14 cm wide on the outside usually fit if the arms sit close to your head. More important than millimetres is the real-world test with the whole set-up – prescription glasses, helmet and goggle together. The lenses must not touch – contact means scratches on both lenses.

The drawing above shows both views

Do the arms press behind your ears?

The most common mistake is a strap pulled too tight. It presses the arms of your prescription glasses into your temples, and after an hour your head hurts. Tighten the strap just enough that the goggle stays put when you shake your head – no tighter. If you have the choice, take the prescription glasses with the narrowest frame and the thinnest arms you own when you go skiing.

Doesn’t it fog twice as much with two sets of lenses?

In practice, with OTG it’s usually the prescription glasses that fog first, not the goggle – they sit closer to the rising warm breath and warm up more slowly. So never pull your buff or neck warmer up over your nose and under the goggle; keep it running below the goggle instead. And if in doubt, treat your prescription glasses with an anti-fog product, not the goggle.

And the helmet?

Always check the whole set-up: prescription glasses, helmet and goggle together. A helmet that pushes the goggle down slightly passes that pressure straight on to the frame of your prescription glasses.

Filter categories and light transmission

VLT stands for “Visible Light Transmission”, the share of visible light that passes through the lens. The lower the value, the darker the lens. The filter categories S0 to S4 are derived from it and are based on the European standard EN ISO 12312-1. Ski and snowboard goggles, as protective equipment, are also covered by EN ISO 18527-1, which replaced the earlier standard EN 174.

Values in percent VLT. VLT is the share of visible light that passes through the lens. The lower the value, the darker the lens.

S43–8%Glaciers, high mountains, firn, extreme glareBlack, 6%

Important: Category S4 lenses are not suitable for road use. Take them off on the drive to the ski area.

Which variant suits you?

  • Black – S4 with 6% VLT plus Low Light. The choice for glaciers, spring ski touring and anything above the tree line in blazing sun.
  • Blue – S3 with 14% VLT plus Low Light. The classic all-rounder for sunny piste days.
  • Purple – S3 with 15% VLT plus Low Light. Practically as dark as Blue, with its own colour character.

Because every variant comes with the Low Light lens at 76% VLT, one goggle covers both extremes: the bluebird day and the afternoon snowfall. The magnetic swap takes seconds and works even with gloves on the chairlift.

Preventing fog

  • Don’t push the goggle up onto your helmet when it’s snowing or while you’re waiting at the top of the lift. Wet foam is often why a goggle fogs up in the afternoon.
  • Keep the vents clear of your beanie, hood, helmet brim and neck warmer.
  • Don’t breathe into the goggle while queuing or on the way up. Taking it off briefly is better than trapping moisture inside.
  • In the car, don’t store the goggle in the warm footwell or in a wet jacket pocket.
  • At home, let the lens and frame dry at room temperature – not on the radiator and not with a hairdryer.

Care and warranty

The lifetime lens warranty covers lens breakage: If a lens breaks into two or more pieces during use, we replace it free of charge. A photo is enough – you don’t need to send us the broken lens. The warranty applies to the first purchaser, on presentation of the original invoice or proof of purchase. Scratches and damaged coatings are not covered – and scratches often happen while cleaning, not while riding.

Warranty scope on the product page · Full warranty terms

  • Never rub the inside of the lens when it’s wet. The inside is the most delicate surface of the whole goggle.
  • Shake or tap the snow out first, don’t wipe it away.
  • Only dab moisture on the inside with a microfibre cloth – never wipe. Only once the lens is completely dry should you gently clean off smudges.
  • Gloves, jacket sleeves and paper tissues never belong on a lens – they carry dirt particles that act like sandpaper.
  • No household cleaners, no alcohol, no glass cleaner and no scented products.
  • Store it somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight. Position the strap so that it doesn’t rest on the inside of the lens.
  • When swapping magnetically, always hold it by the frame – never run your thumb across the lens.

Placeholder — still open

A responsible person in the EU has not been named yet. Until that is done, this section remains a placeholder and is not filled in.

Why this differs in Switzerland: Domestic shipments are inexpensive; cross-border ones cost several times more. We keep the price low instead of spreading those costs across all orders.

Spare lenses

If a lens breaks or you want a second tint, you only swap the lens. Frame, strap, foam and case stay – that’s what the magnetic swap is built for, and it’s why a spare lens costs a fraction of a new goggle.
