THE ORIGINS OF VERTICAL UNIT
OUR HISTORY
Founded in Switzerland in 2017 by Martin W. and Barry K. - two mountain sports enthusiasts who couldn't understand that functional and stylish ski goggles with high optical quality should cost between 200 and 300 francs. Also, they couldn't find a good working quick lens change system that was available with polarized lenses at a reasonable price. VU's motivation is therefore to provide young, ambitious skiers and snowboarders with goggles that meet the highest demands every day, but are affordable for this group.
We see ourselves as innovative doers who push boundaries. We are engineers and designers driven by the search for the best quality and functionality. We see ourselves as a disruptive force in our industry and take the wishes of our customers seriously. We are defined by our team riders and our community. We were born in the Swiss Alps.
THE HEADS BEHIND VERTICAL UNIT
BARRY
Engineer with over 10 years experience in development with a passion for the mountains.
Barry develops and defines the technical specifications for each Vertical Unit ski goggle and sunglass and works closely with manufacturing to ensure that only the best and most functional technology is used in every Vertical Unit product.
Barry is a perfectionist with a love of risk. Always willing to go one step further and create something new and great.
MARTIN
Martin, also an engineer with many years of project management experience, keeps our operations running by interacting with drivers, photographers, dealers and designers.
Martin is a passionate skier and is committed to providing the community with the best experience with Vertical Unit products.
